Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible to perform routine preventive maintenance for G&S and all company equipment. S/He works with the Maintenance Manager to ensure maintenance issues are addressed and resolved timely. Responsibilities include service, repairs, and maintenance on stamping, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, in addition to basic supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists the Maintenance Manager with the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.
  • Assists in the development of maintenance procedures and schedules.
  • Performs routine maintenance around the building fixing structural damage, including window, door, or wall repair.
  • Repairs broken or leaking plumbing as needed.
  • Works on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs.
  • Maintains the building’s HVAC equipment.
  • Applies preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof.
  • Fixes potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
  • Inspects and identifies equipment in need of repair.
  • Communicates with management and staff on all equipment repairs until equipment is properly functioning again.
  • Follows all safety procedures as required, including lockout/tagout and other OSHA regulations, when completing repair work.
  • Reviews and updates maintenance calendar daily, performing required work.
  • Performs general repairs including drywall, painting, and repairing doors or other fixtures.
  • Plans repair work using building blueprints or equipment manuals as needed.
  • Works with external vendors and/or consultants to troubleshoot and repair electrical issues as necessary.
  • Performs MIG and stick welding for machinery repairs.
  • Conducts necessary equipment modifications and upgrades.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and routine inspections per equipment specifications.
  • Orders supplies, parts, and materials needed for repair and maintenance.
  • Cleans and assists with the upkeep of the facilities during downtime.
  • Is responsible for general labor duties such as emptying trash, painting, cleaning surfaces, mopping, etc.
  • Is reliable and punctual in reporting for work as scheduled.
  • Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of general carpentry, electrical, welding, and basic repair
  • Excellent supervisory skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed
  • Basic understanding of machine operations
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Self-motivated and solid work ethic
  • Willingness to learn and take direction
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • At least 2 years of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic experience (including 480 – 3 phase)
  • PLC experience is a plus
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Frequent standing, pushing, and pulling
