Job Summary

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for evaluating, planning, and monitoring inventory levels for both domestic and import product lines in coordination with demand forecast, sales objectives, and financial goals. They will develop and implement supply chain strategy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assesses business needs for supply chain support; develops and implements a comprehensive strategy and processes to maximize procurement savings for goods and services as well as improve overall supplier service levels and customer satisfaction.
  • Establishes key supply chain relationships with vendors and strategic suppliers, drives for efficiencies, oversees supplier evaluation, selection and engagement including the development of data analysis and clear, robust business requirements to support informed supplier decisions.
  • Develops and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive business results.
  • Develops and implements required processes to ensure supply chain improvements are defined and measured.
  • Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes.
  • Identifies optimal shipment and transportation routes with attention to consolidation of warehousing and distribution.
  • Analyzes, manages, and maintains inventory levels in alignment with desired days of inventory on hand.
  • Manages and updates demand forecast spreadsheets, ERP, etc. with latest sales information daily.
  • Identifies any potential inventory issues daily and works with Procurement.
  • Collaborates with the Sr. Sales Analyst monthly to review and adjust forecast for major accounts.
  • Works with the VP of Operations and import department making recommendations on future import and supply purchases.
  • Consistently analyzes and submits procurement schedule (quarterly, semi-annually, annually) for imports to the President and VP of Operations for budget analysis.
  • Submits monthly slitting, coating, and production demands to the VP of Operations for budget analysis.
  • Communicates deadlines to import procurement team.
  • Supervises the Production Scheduler and Packaging Scheduler & Inventory Manager.
  • Enters and updates all forecasts into QAD as they are developed.
  • Creates forecast spreadsheets for smaller accounts annually by collaborating with upper management.
  • Analyzing data forecasts year over year for trends, insights, etc. to align to updated forecasts with current goals.
  • Reviews safety stock levels for both domestic and import items quarterly and updates as needed.
  • Reviews item classification with the CFO and updates as needed.
  • Establishes and maintains work instructions for Supply Chain Department.
  • Assists the Sr. Sales Analyst in leading the weekly major account planning meetings.
  • Utilizes major account data to generate customer scorecard and presents to applicable departments regularly.
  • Utilizes customer specific software to assist in forecast and demand analysis.
  • Coordinates with the Assistant Manager Import Procurement on monthly demand and cost analysis to meet customer orders.
  • Recommends solutions to satisfy the monthly import budget requirements to management.
  • Is responsible for making recommendations and suggestions for process improvement.
  • Is reliable and punctual in reporting for work as scheduled.
  • Maintains professionalism at all times.
  • Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with keen attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 as well as ERP software (QAD, SAP, JD Edwards or similar systems)
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • Understanding of mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions in demand analysis
  • Self-motivated and solid work ethic
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
  • At least three years of Supply Chain experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Experience with QAD or ERP preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted
  • Continuous sitting, bending, pushing/pulling
