Job Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for receiving daily shipments, entering them into the system, and ensuring products make it to their final destination/department. S/he supervises the material handling staff, providing them with daily work instructions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Controls inbound and outbound traffic at the E. 79th location, overseeing the import process, auditing all incoming shipments, receiving parts into QAD, managing paperwork, and delivering parts to departments.
  • Directs the Fargo transfer process, working with drivers and office staff to prioritize shipments daily.
  • Supervises dock workers and material handling staff, providing them with daily work instructions.
  • Schedules freight pickups over the phone and online, following up when trucks fail to arrive.
  • Oversees the audit process for all outbound skids.
  • Controls the drop zone, keeping it clear, staging and organizing freight, and working with the Logistics Manager to coordinate truck rotation.
  • Assists management with order filling by retrieving sales orders and labels, monitoring order pullers, producing pre-shippers for sales orders and releasing them to the floor.
  • Maintains flow of communication with management with regards to daily workload, shortages, and hot items.
  • Audits and schedules completed purchase orders.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork accurately, including bills of lading, purchase orders, packing slips, etc.
  • Manages dock operations, overseeing trucks being loaded and/or unloaded, handling and organizing trucks and drivers as they arrive.
  • Finalizes paperwork for drivers and the office as loads ship.
  • Is reliable and punctual in reporting for work as scheduled.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous lift truck/tow motor operation experience
  • Previous supervisory experience a plus
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted
  • Frequent walking
  • Occasional bending, pushing/pulling
