The Production Scheduler is responsible for scheduling all production lines, the packaging department, and the coating facility. S/he analyzes forecasts, sales trends, and history to assist in the planning/scheduling functions.
- Enters the daily production reports into QAD, updating and maintaining the press schedule (both on the schedule and in QAD).
- Researches, reviews, and understands forecasts, historical sales trends, and demand to determine production scheduling.
- Is responsible for scheduling the shear, accurately processing production of blanks to ensure press lines run without down time.
- Reviews demands to create weekly coating schedules and forecast schedule to keep a consistent flow of material and maintain proper production and inventory levels.
- Assists in the set-up, entering and maintenance of product structures in QAD.
- Works with Inventory Analyst to provide input on supply planning, help develop proper inventory and safety stock levels.
- Works with the inventory supervisor to maintain accurate inventory information.
- Processes the receipt of steel trucks from the steel coating supplier and adjusts schedules as needed.
- Reviews material shortages, stock outages, and safety stock levels while working with Purchasing and Manufacturing to meet customer requirements; proposes changes when needed.
- Assists in the resolution of MRP and planning discrepancies.
- Works with Manufacturing to manage schedule changes as needed.
- Interacts with sales team and communicates product availability or ready dates as needed.
- Collaborates with sales to understand demand forecast drivers.
- Releases work orders or ensure work orders are accurately released for pressroom
- Backs up the Packaging Coordinator to ensure production is accurately scheduled and packed in time for shipments.
- Is reliable and punctual in reporting for work as scheduled.
- Performs other duties/projects as assigned.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office and previous experience with QAD a plus
- Resilient with a positive attitude
- Self-motivated and solid work ethic
- High school diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred
- At least one year of experience in business planning, scheduling, and forecasting
- Experience with ERP systems (QAD or others)
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted
- Occasional standing and walking
- Frequent sitting, bending, pushing, and pulling
